The dry boat yangko, also known as the dry boat, is a Han folk dance that simulates sailing in the water. The activity area of Lishi dry boat yangko is mainly centered on Lishi City, east to Xiaodongchuan, north to the south of Dawu, west to the bank of the Yellow River, down to Shangbaishuang, and south to Jinluo Town. In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, the tradition of singing yangko was popular in Lishi area. People gathered together to sing and dance and celebrate together during the slack season. On this basis, people exerted their creativity and created many yangko tunes that are closely related to life. These tunes are easy to understand, which not only express people's joy for the harvest, but also express their blessings and expectations for the coming year. Lishi dry boat yangko is divided into two parts: performance and singing. The accompaniment is also divided into two sets, the front set serves the performance, and the back set serves the singing. The yangko team has at least 50 or 60 members, and at most 100 or 200 members. They wear gorgeous costumes and perform according to certain routines. In addition to the boatman and the "boat core", the roles played include historical figures and mythological figures. The front set of accompaniment bands serve the performance team, and the instruments used include suona, drums, gongs, bangu, cymbals, etc. The singing team follows the front set of performance teams, and the accompaniment personnel play, dance, and march.
