Acrobatics, this wonderful national art with a strong fragrance, has a long history in Shandong. Since the Han Dynasty, after thousands of years of evolution and change, it has formed a unique artistic style, full of strong folk flavor. There are many fragmentary descriptions of Shandong acrobatics in some historical books, literati notes and chapter novels. Among the Han tombs unearthed in Shandong, a large number of Han relief stones (bricks) engraved with ancient acrobatic performances have also been found. Dong'e County in Liaocheng, Shandong, and Ningjin County in Dezhou have always been known as the "hometown of acrobatics". All this shows that Shandong is worthy of being a real acrobatics province. In ancient times, acrobatics were included in "Bai Xi", which was the general term for music, dance and acrobatic performances in ancient my country. The "acrobatics" here is a broad concept. Later, with the increasingly detailed division of labor in art, "Bai Xi" has gradually differentiated and derived various acrobatics, magic, singing and dancing, folk art, opera and other categories with their own artistic personality. In modern times, what we usually call acrobatics refers to the narrow category. According to the performance program, there are stage acrobatics, aerial acrobatics, magic tricks, animal training, circus, funny performances, etc. In ancient times, acrobatics were once used by the feudal dynasty as an important means to show off the martial arts and national prestige. There was a grand occasion of "hundreds of plays" and the court and the people alike. But later, with the strengthening of feudalism, the acrobatics that fell into the rivers and lakes were regarded as "beggar art" like folk artists of quyi. Acrobats were in a position of being oppressed and oppressed, and the acrobatic art itself was also devastated. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, under the guidance of the party's "double hundred" policy, acrobatic art has been constantly developing and innovating; Shandong has produced many acrobatic talents and endless performance forms. Therefore, Shandong is also known as the "hometown of acrobatics". In June 1959, the Shandong Acrobatic Troupe was established, which became one of the influential large-scale acrobatic and circus groups in the country. Shandong acrobatics not only inherits the traditional superb skills, but also embodies the unique artistic style and distinctive local color of Qilu acrobatics. Many outstanding innovative festivals have not only won the championship in China, but also won the gold medal of the International Circus Festival, and have made significant contributions to Shandong's foreign cultural exchanges. Since the reform and opening up, Shandong Acrobatic Troupe has gone through a stage of consolidation and development. In art, based on tradition but not confined to the old customs, it draws on the strengths of many others, integrates them, and takes innovation as the main line, striving to embody the beauty, difficulty, novelty and strangeness of acrobatic art, and gradually forms its own artistic style.
