Da Lianxiang is a folk dance with a strong national cultural atmosphere. There are Da Lianxiang activities in many places across the country, and it is known as "soft in the south and strong in the north". This project was applied for by Jinshan District and Nanhui District respectively. "Da Lianxiang in Langxia, Jinshan" Langxia is the birthplace of Jinshan Lianxiang, and it has been documented for more than 100 years. At first, Da Lianxiang was mainly performed in a kind of sacrificial activity among the local people. When the "master went out for a meeting", he followed behind and beat while walking. Its purpose was mostly to exorcise evil spirits, chase away ghosts, pay homage to the gods, and pray for a good harvest and peace every year. After liberation, as a kind of entertainment activity loved by the people, it was often performed when visiting the families of military martyrs. Today, Langxia Lianxiang has become a household name in Jinshan area, a cultural and sports project with a high reputation in Shanghai, and a wide influence in the Yangtze River Delta region, building an important cultural platform for the construction of a harmonious society. The movements of Langxia Da Lianxiang are brisk, bright, and have a strong sense of rhythm. The main basic movements are crossing, turning sticks, tapping shoulders, hitting the ground, and turning around. Tapping the shoulders, waist, back, arms, elbows, hands, knees, feet and other parts and acupuncture points can achieve the effect of relaxing muscles and activating blood circulation; at the same time, the vibration of copper coins makes a sound when tapping, and with music and lyrics, it forms a rich rhythm change, which not only exercises the body but also pleases the mind and body. Most of the people who play Lianxiang are women. At first, they wear clothes that they carry with them, and gradually develop into uniform clothing. For example, they wear large flowered double-breasted clothes, small bibs, and head towels, which have a strong rural flavor. In April 2007, Langxia Lianxiang was listed in the first batch of intangible cultural heritage lists in Jinshan District, and became a "one town, one product" cultural feature project in Jinshan District. It has represented Jinshan District in Shanghai's cultural and sports competitions, exchanges, and performances many times. On February 11, 2008, CCTV made a live report on Langxia Lianxiang during the Jinshan District's characteristic cultural performance. On October 25-27, Langxia Town successfully held the 10th China Shanghai International Art Festival "Langxia Cup" Yangtze River Delta Lianxiang Invitational Tournament. During the period, the Yangtze River Delta Lianxiang Cultural Association was initiated and established.
