Ningyang Xianzi Opera has a history of more than 200 years. The singing style of Ningyang Xianzi Opera highlights "nine tunes, 18 tunes, and 72 hey-hi". The singing style is sometimes loud, sometimes mellow, sometimes soft, and the melody is moving. According to the needs of the plot, "coloratura" and "modulation" are used to highlight the character's personality. More than 140 tunes have been developed, such as "Baby", "Locking South Branch", "Shanpoyang", and "Daoqing". The repertoire includes more than 300 plays such as "Beating Dengzhou", "Double Dragon Crown", "Hanging Dragon Lantern", "Red Sister-in-law", and "Trial Chair". The performance of Xianzi Opera is divided into two types: civil opera and martial opera. It is generally composed of five people, mainly using instruments such as "flute, sheng, and sanxian". There is a saying that "flute is bone, sheng is flesh, and string is tendon".
