The legend of Dashun refers to a series of folk legends widely circulated in Zhucheng area with Shun as the protagonist and Shun's experience as the main plot. "Mencius Li Lou Chapter" says: "Shun was born in Zhufeng, moved to Fuxia, died in Mingtiao, and was a Dongyi person." After the research of scholars of all dynasties, it is generally believed that Shun's hometown is in Zhucheng. This shows that the legends of Dashun widely circulated in Zhucheng, such as "let the bank", "let the residence", "drilling the well" and other stories, are not a tree without roots, but are based on the Dashun culture with profound historical accumulation, and fully reflect the long history and far-reaching influence of Shun culture in Zhucheng. According to legend, when Shun was born in Zhufeng, there were four rainbows in the sky. He was named Shunhua. His biological mother died when he was five years old, his father was blind, his stepmother was vicious, and his half-brother was stubborn. He had harmed Shun three times. He asked Shun to repair the granary, but his stepmother pulled out the ladder and set it on fire; he asked Shun to dig a well, but his stepmother threw stones into the well; he asked Shun to drink wine, but the wine was poisoned. Shun escaped, but he still respected his parents and treated his brothers and sisters well. Shun's virtues were widely praised, and moved Emperor Yao, who visited Shun in person. Yao then tested Shun three more times, and finally saw that Shun was indeed a man of extraordinary virtue and talent, so he abdicated the leadership of the alliance to Shun.
