Gaixia is a strategic location and has always been a strategic location. The famous decisive battle of the Chu-Han contention, the Battle of Gaixia, took place here, which staged passionate and popular historical dramas such as Ambush from All Sides, Songs of Chu on All Sides, and Farewell My Concubine, which have been passed down through the ages and are well-known. In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, Empress Gao's nephew Lü Chan was granted the title of Marquis of Xun, and the capital was established here, which was later changed to Xun County. At the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, the Chen family was famous in the world, and was known as "three Shangshu from one family". Xu Shen, a famous Confucian scholar, writer, and author of "Shuowen Jiezi" in the Eastern Han Dynasty, once served as an official in Xun County. He was known as "Xu Xunchang" and was praised as "Zi Sheng". The cultural heritage of Gaixia has a profound historical background. For thousands of years, the working people have recorded many major historical events and local customs and conditions through stories, legends, ballads, proverbs, etc. through word of mouth with high wisdom, profound thoughts, and simple language, thus creating and spreading a large number of colorful folk literature. "Gaixia Legend" is a narrative folk literature that has been orally circulated among the people in the Gaixia area for a long time.
