🎧  Listen to Introduction

According to the Ming Dynasty Cao Xuequan's Records of Famous Places in Shu, and cited in Biographies of Eminent Monks and Records of Eminent Monks in Shu, the origin of the "Iron Chain Flying Ferry" can be traced back to the Liang Datong period (535-545). The "Iron Chain Flying Ferry" project is located between the three steep and dangerous peaks of Doushan Mountain in Wudu Town, Jiangyou City. Among the three peaks, only the Wenyue Peak in the west has a dangerous path to climb. The other two peaks, the Shenfu Peak in the east and the Feixian Peak in the south, have no path to climb, but are connected by two iron cables. The Iron Chain Flying Ferry has a history of more than 1,400 years. The unique feature of this project is that the bridge crossers can fly across the iron ropes on the shaky iron ropes between the cliffs between the three mountains. The skill of flying across the iron ropes has always been passed down by the abbots or designated monks of the temples of Doushan Mountain in ancient times. The last abbot of Yunyan Temple in Doushan Mountain was Yao Ximing, who was the last monk to inherit this skill. Now his student Yang Haiping has inherited this skill and performed it for tourists. He has carried forward the iron rope flying and created a set of high-altitude iron rope full-set martial arts performances, and trained successors and female flyers to perform this stunt. The project is 25 kilometers away from Jiangyou City. It is a beautiful landscape of Doushan Mountain, a national AAAA-level tourist scenic spot. Tourists from all over the world are amazed and amazed by this project and linger. Information source: Mianyang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center (no pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
