Kuk Early Agricultural Site
The Cook Early Agricultural Site is located in the western highlands of New Guinea at an altitude of 1,500 meters and covers an area of 116 hectares. Archaeological excavations have shown that the feature is one of wetland reclamation, which was carried out almost continuously for 7,000 years and possibly as long as 10,000 years. The well-preserved archaeological remains at the site show the technological leap from plant exploitation to agriculture about 6,500 years ago. It is an excellent example of how agricultural practices have changed over time, from cultivating mounds to digging trenches with wooden tools to drain wetlands. Cook is one of the few places in the world with archaeological evidence of agriculture developing independently and agricultural practices changing over such a long period of time.
Dengzhuang Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park
The Dengzhuang Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park in Hengshui City was approved by the former Provincial Science and Technology Commission and started construction in June 1998. It has now invested more than 42 million yuan and built an area of 500 mu. It has built 150 advanced solar greenhouses, two fully intelligent multi-span greenhouses, eight centers (science and technology training center, agricultural information service center, factory-based seedling center, soil fertility testing center, pollution-free vegetable testing center, tissue culture center, beef and dairy cow embryo transplantation center, clean vegetable processing and distribution center) and a modern beef and dairy cow farm. In 2001, Dengzhuangyuan District was recognized as a provincial agricultural science and technology demonstration park, a pollution-free vegetable production base in Hebei Province, and a vegetable production and supply base for Beijing in Hebei Province. In the process of development, the park has established a solid technical support relationship with seven colleges and universities and scientific research institutions such as China Agricultural University and Beijing Vegetable Research Center. A strong agricultural science and technology service system has been established for the majority of farmers, which has played a significant role in accelerating agricultural science and technology progress, promoting agricultural structural adjustment, and increasing farmers' income. Over the past few years, the park has adhered to the principle of "serving as the purpose, relying on science and technology, and being market-oriented", and has continuously increased its investment in science and technology, so that the park has always maintained its vigorous vitality and has become a leader in adjusting the agricultural industrial structure and promoting the development of agricultural industrialization. Party and state leaders Jiang Zemin, Wen Jiabao, Zeng Qinghong, Liu Yunshan, Fei Xiaotong and provincial leaders Bai Keming and Ji Yunshi have visited the park in person and fully affirmed the park's approach to promoting the adjustment of the agricultural industrial structure and increasing farmers' income. On November 4, 2001, General Secretary Jiang Zemin personally inscribed the name of the park.
Nongfuyuan Scenic Area in Yutian County
Nongfuyuan Ecological Park in Yutian County, Hebei Province is a national agricultural demonstration zone and a production base for Nongfuyuan facility vegetables. The base is planned to cover an area of 1,000 mu, with a total investment of 30 million yuan. The scale of facility vegetables reaches 484 mu, and the planting area is 280 mu. It has registered the "Huiyuan" brand vegetable trademark, with 300 square meters of office space, 100 square meters of processing workshop, and 4 vegetable transport vehicles. There are 1 intelligent multi-span greenhouse, 51 high-standard solar greenhouses, and 69 plastic greenhouses. The base mainly grows more than 10 kinds of famous and special vegetables such as strawberries, tomatoes, green peppers, peppers, cucumbers, and eggplants. It demonstrates and promotes 6 vegetable integrated technologies such as sub-film drip irrigation, insect-proof net covering, yellow board trapping, and bee pollination. The annual output of vegetables is 1,420 tons, with an output value of 4.36 million yuan. At present, the Nongfuyuan Facility Vegetable Production Area has become a demonstration garden for new varieties and new technologies of facility vegetables in Yutian County and a model garden for the national modern agricultural demonstration zone. It produces various high-quality vegetables throughout the year and has been recognized as pollution-free vegetables by the Ministry of Agriculture and has obtained the pollution-free agricultural product certificate. In the next three phases, it is planned to establish a comprehensive agricultural technology demonstration base integrating farming experience, sightseeing, picking, fishing, catering, leisure, and health preservation. Pure green agricultural products will make you feel like you were thirty years ago, and people who have lived in cities for a long time will return to nature.
Puran Ecological Park
The Ecological Park is an innovative high-tech ecological park that integrates accommodation, catering, business meetings, agricultural sightseeing, agricultural technology demonstration, breeding of new varieties of plants and animals, tourism; planting, picking and selling of organic vegetables and fruits, and leisure fishing. The functional areas of the Puran Ecological Park are based on ecological agricultural development, aiming to create a beautiful natural environment to produce high-quality green agricultural products, and take the road of agricultural sightseeing and rural leisure and vacation. Xiaotangshan Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park
Xiaotangshan Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park is located in the plain area at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain, with fertile land and convenient transportation. The park is 17 kilometers north of the Asian Games Village, 10 kilometers east of the Capital International Airport, 5 kilometers west of the Badaling Expressway, and the Sixth Ring Road and the Beijing-Chengde Expressway pass through the park. It covers four towns: Xiaotangshan, Cuicun, Xingshou, and Baishan. There are abundant water resources here, surrounded by eight rivers such as Wenyu River, Hulu River, and Lingou River. The exploitable area of geothermal resources is 100 square kilometers. Xiaotangshan Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park was built in 1998. In 2001, it was named the National Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park in Changping District, Beijing by the Ministry of Science and Technology and other six ministries and commissions. It is the only national agricultural science and technology demonstration park in Beijing. In the past few years, it has been named "Beijing Science Education Base", "Beijing Patriotism Education Base", "Demonstration Base for the Introduction of Foreign Intellectual Achievements", "National Industrial and Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site", "Scientific Experiment Base", "Beijing Garden-style Unit" and so on by the Beijing Municipal Government, the State Administration of Foreign Experts, the National Tourism Administration and other departments.
