Yudaokou Grassland Forest Scenic Area

Yudaokou Grassland Forest Scenic Area is located in Weichang County, Chengde City. It is 400 kilometers away from Beijing, 260 kilometers away from Chengde City, and 110 kilometers away from Weichang County. It has a total area of 1,000 square kilometers and an average altitude of 1,230-1,820 meters. It is known as "the source of water, the hometown of clouds, the world of flowers, the ocean of forests, and the paradise of rare birds and beasts." It is one of the filming locations of the 1998 version of the TV series "My Fair Princess".

Manú National Park

This vast park of 1.5 million hectares has a continuous layer of vegetation, ranging from 150 to 4,200 meters above sea level. The lower tropical forest is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. About 850 bird species have been found. Rare species such as the giant otter and giant armadillo also live here. Jaguars can often be seen in the park.

Kahuzi-Biega National Park

The park contains a large area of primary tropical forest, dominated by two spectacular extinct volcanoes, Kahuzi and Biega, and is home to a wide variety of animal life. One of the last remaining populations of eastern lowland gorillas (graueri), only about 250 individuals, lives at altitudes between 2,100 and 2,400 metres.

Shipu Gorge

Shipu Gorge, as the name suggests, is a canyon in the mountains, with different heights, forming the so-called ten waterfalls. The scenic area is characterized by waterfalls, flowing springs, strange rocks and blue lakes. A plank road is built along the mountain in the scenic area, which is suspended on the cliffs, connecting the blue sky above and the abyss below, connecting multiple scenic spots in the scenic area. Walking on the plank road, you can see the folds of the mountains. A glass plank road is built in the Baishishan Scenic Area. The glass plank road is 1,900 meters above sea level. After completion, it is 95 meters long and 2 meters wide. It is currently the highest suspended glass plank road in China. The brave ones walk on the glass plank road just like walking on land. They pose in various poses on the plank road to take pictures. The timid ones tremble and hold the mountain, walking on the cement gap between the plank road and the mountain.

Mountain Railways of India

The site includes three railways. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway was the first mountain passenger railway and remains the most outstanding example. Opened in 1881, its design employed bold and ingenious engineering solutions to the problem of establishing an effective rail connection in a scenic mountainous region. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a 46 km long, metre gauge, single track railway in Tamil Nadu, first proposed in 1854, but due to the difficult mountainous location, construction only began in 1891 and was completed in 1908. The railway, which runs from 326 m to 2,203 m above sea level, represented the latest technology of its time. The Kalka Shimla Railway is a 96 km long, single track railway built in the mid-19th century to serve the highland town of Shimla and is a symbol of the technical and material efforts to evacuate the mountain population by rail. All three railways are still fully operational.

Haichang Polar Oceanarium

Tianjin Haichang Polar Oceanarium covers an area of about 50,000 square meters, with a construction area of about 47,000 square meters and a maximum building height of 67 meters. It is currently the world's largest polar marine animal museum with the most comprehensive display of polar marine life species.
