Tujia collages are paintings pasted on plywood. They are unique in their craftsmanship and artistic quality. No paper, oil paint, brush or ink is used to make these paintings. The raw materials are sand, bark, sedge stalks, bamboo shoot shells or scraps of cloth. The landscapes of Wuling and the ancient villages of Xiangxi depicted in these paintings are vivid and lifelike, with both the effect of landscape and the charm of traditional Chinese painting. Therefore, they caused a sensation as soon as they were launched and attracted the attention of people at home and abroad. Now this painting has been granted a national patent. In the Hunan Pavilion of the 1999 Kunming World Expo Park, there are works by Zhangjiajie folk collage master Li Junshen, which are highly praised by tourists at home and abroad.
