Bronze casting lost wax technique

Hubei
🎧  Listen to Introduction

Daye has a long history of bronze culture. Daye is the birthplace of Chinese bronze culture. It is located on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and in the southeast of Hubei Province. It is known as the "hundred-mile golden land and the cornucopia of Jiangnan". As early as the Xiaoyi period of the Shang Dynasty more than 3,000 years ago, the furnace smelting fire was ignited here. The traditional Chinese lost wax method is a precision casting method for bronze and other metal objects, also known as the "investment casting method", which was first seen in the middle and late Shang Dynasty. Although the traditional Chinese lost wax casting technology has a long history, with the integration of new technologies into the foundry industry, the "lost wax method" is in an endangered state.
