The themes of ancient Chinese stone carvings can be said to be all-encompassing. Religion, folk customs, ethics, and education can all be reflected in stone carvings. Some stone carvings even carry a lot of historical information, like a social landscape painting. Many breathtaking stone carvings, with their ingenious shapes, diverse styles, and eternal and immortal charm, span a long period of time and space, showing their breadth and depth. In Keqiao District, craftsmen of all generations have left many excellent stone carving masterpieces, among which the dragon-carved stone pillars of Shunwang Temple and the Keyan Buddha statues are representative, reflecting the superb level of stone carving art. Shaoxing's Donghu, Houshan, Keyan, Yangshan and other places have been rich in stone since ancient times, which has promoted the rise of stone carving in Shaoxing. In June 2006, it was included in the first batch of Shaoxing's intangible cultural heritage list.
