Huzhou feather fan, commonly known as bird feather fan, is a famous traditional handicraft with a long history in my country. It is known as one of the three famous fans in China together with Suzhou round fan and Hangzhou folding line fan. It has a history of more than 1,300 years. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the production of Huzhou feather fans was very prosperous. Its exquisite craftsmanship and excellent quality have made it famous all over the world. There is a poem in "Feather Fans": "Wuxing round fans are famous all over the world, Zhuge and Wang Sui do not rely on Luo; Huaihai sails and walls return feather guests, and spring is now recognized by Jin Po in the alleys." During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Huzhou founded the first feather fan store, Qiu Yifeng Feather Fan Store. During the Guangxu and Xuantong periods, old feather fan stores such as Yan Zhengtai and Yan Yita were opened successively. After the founding of New China, Huzhou feather fans changed the "front shop and back workshop, self-production and self-sales" model and organized to form large-scale production. The Huzhou Feather Fan Factory was established in 1959, and the "Tiangong Brand" produced by it is the main brand of traditional feather fan craftsmanship. In 1981, the "Tiangong Brand" Huzhou Feather Fan won the first place in the national product evaluation of the same industry. The production process of Huzhou Feather Fan is numerous, the materials are rigorous, and the materials are carefully selected. There are strict requirements on the origin and collection season of the wool materials. The fan handle materials are high-quality and high-grade horn, wood, bamboo, bone, ivory, etc. There are many types, and the varieties can be divided into: Beijing-style fan, Ruyue fan, child fan, velvet folding fan, Zhuge fan, god fan, etc. Since ancient times, various refined feather fans have become a symbol of noble status and elegant temperament. Emperors and generals of all dynasties used feather fans as ceremonial decorations to show their nobility; literati and scholars held them to show their elegance. It has the historical and cultural value of witnessing ancient culture. It has also formed a series of living and consumption customs, which give it the connotation of folk culture.
