Legend of Han Xiangzi
Han Xiangzi, also known by his courtesy name Qingfu, was the great-nephew of Han Yu. There is no record of Han Xiangzi's life, but folklore says that he was one of the "Eight Immortals". The treasure in his hand is called Zijin Xiao, which is said to be made of a magical bamboo from the purple bamboo forest in the South China Sea. Han Xiangzi is a relatively young immortal among the Eight Immortals of Taoism, and he is also a person who actually existed in history. According to historical records, his original name was Han Xiang, and he was the great-nephew of Han Yu, a famous writer in the Tang Dynasty (681-907). He once passed the imperial examination and served as an official in the central government of the Tang Dynasty. In official historical works, it is not said that he became an immortal through practicing Taoism. However, in other works, it is recorded that Han Yu had a nephew who practiced Taoism. He did not listen to his uncle's advice and did not like to read, which made Han Yu very angry. However, after 1, he was able to perform some magical spells. Later, people combined the deeds of these two generations together and gradually formed the legend of Han Xiangzi's immortality. It is said that after he became a god, he tried to persuade his uncle Han Yu to do 1, but was rejected by his uncle. In the folk image, Han Xiangzi is a young man who is good at playing the flute (a traditional Chinese musical instrument made of bamboo). Legend has it that Han Xiangzi was born with a fairy bone, acted according to his nature, and was disgusted with prosperous and gorgeous things. He liked quiet and quiet. Beautiful women could not make him excited; good wine and delicious food could not make him lose his will. He devoted himself to 1 and devoted himself to studying Taoism. Han Yu repeatedly advised him to study hard, but Han Xiangzi replied: "What I learn is different from what you learn." Han Yu was angry and scolded him. One day, Han Xiangzi went out to visit the Taoist master and met Lü Dongbin and Han Zhongli. So Han Xiangzi ran away from home, followed the two to learn Taoism, and got their true teachings. Later, Han Xiangzi traveled to a place and saw a peach forest with ripe peaches. He climbed a tree to pick peaches, but the branch suddenly broke and Han Xiangzi fell to the ground and died. His corpse became an immortal. Han Xiangzi wanted to convert Han Yu, but Han Yu did not believe in Taoism, so he used magic to impress him first. It happened that there was a severe drought that year, and the emperor ordered Han Yu to go to the South Altar to pray for rain and snow. Han Yu prayed many times, but no rain or snow fell from the sky, so he faced the danger of being dismissed from office. Han Xiangzi dressed up as a Taoist priest and put up a sign on the street that read: "Selling rain and snow." Someone saw this and immediately informed Han Yu, who immediately sent someone to ask him to pray on his behalf. The Taoist priest went on stage to perform a ritual, and in an instant, heavy snow fell from the sky. Han Yu did not believe that this was caused by Taoism, so he asked the Taoist priest, "Did I pray for this snow, or did you?" The Taoist priest said, "I prayed for it." Han Yu asked, "What's the evidence?" The Taoist priest said, "The snow is three feet and three inches thick." Han Yu sent someone to measure it, and it was indeed as he said. Han Yu then believed that Taoism was extraordinary. One day, it was Han Yu's birthday, and his relatives and friends came to congratulate him. Han Yu held a big banquet to entertain them. Xiangzi came unexpectedly and wished Han Yu a happy birthday. Han Yu was happy and angry to see him. Xiangzi sat at the table, and Han Yu asked him, "You have been traveling for a long time, and I don't know if your knowledge has improved. Please write a poem to express your ambition." Han Xiangzi started chanting: Green mountains, clouds and waters separate, this place is my home; I pull the clouds and mist with my hands, and Binchen sings the sunset. The zither plays the jade cave, the furnace refines the white cinnabar; the treasure tripod contains the golden tiger, the Zhitian raises the white crow, a gourd contains the creation, three feet of new demons; I know how to make the wine, which can bloom in an instant. If someone can learn from me, we can watch the fairy flowers together. After listening to the poem he chanted, Han Yu asked him: "Do you have the ability to create nature?" So Han Yu ordered him to make wine and bloom. Han Xiangzi immediately moved a wine jar to the hall and covered it with a golden basin. After a while, when he opened the jar, he saw that the wine was ready. Han Xiangzi gathered the soil into a pile, and soon, a green flower bloomed. The flower was the same size as the peony, but the color was more gorgeous than the peony. There were two lines of golden characters on the flower: Where is my home with clouds across the Qinling Mountains? Snow blocked the Lan Pass and the horse could not move forward. Han Yu didn't understand what this meant. Xiangzi said: "The secret of heaven cannot be leaked, it will come true in the future." All the guests present were amazed. When the banquet was over, Han Xiangzi said goodbye to Han Yu and left. During the reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty, Han Yu angered Emperor Xianzong by advising him to welcome the Buddha's bones. Emperor Xianzong was furious and demoted Han Yu to the governor of Chaozhou, with a deadline to leave. Han Yu left his wife and children and went to Chaozhou. After less than a few days, the cold wind blew and heavy snow fell. Han Yu walked to a place where the snow was several feet deep and the horse could hardly move forward. There was no house nearby and he didn't know where the road was. He wanted to retreat along the road, but there was no way back. The wind was blowing hard and the snow was falling fast. Han Yu was soaked all over, and he was freezing and hungry. He had no place to vent his sorrows. Just when Han Yu was desperate, he saw a man sweeping the snow in the severe cold. It turned out to be Han Xiangzi. Han Xiangzi asked Han Yu: "Do you still remember the couplet written on the flower?" Han Yu asked: "Where is this place?" Han Xiangzi replied: "This is Languan." Han Yu sighed for a long time before saying: "Since things have this destiny, I will complete the couplet on the flower for you. "Moving to Languan to Show My Nephew Sun Xiang" A letter was submitted to the nine heavens in the morning, and I was demoted to Chaoyang in the evening. I want to eliminate evils for the sage, but I am willing to cherish my remaining years? Where is my home with clouds across the Qinling Mountains? The snow blocked Languan and the horse could not move forward. I know you have come from afar for a purpose, so please collect my bones by the malaria-filled river. So Han Yu and Xiangzi stayed overnight in the house of the teacher in Languan. Han Yu believed that what Xiangzi said was true. That night, Han Yu and Han Xiangzi talked about their exchanges and the way of cultivation, and Han Yu was convinced. The next day, before leaving, Han Xiangzi took out a scoop of elixir and said to Han Yu: "Take one pill to keep out the cold and heat. Han Yu suddenly realized. Han Xiangzi said: "You will be back soon, not only will you be healthy, but you will also be valued by the court." Han Yu asked: "Will we meet again?" Han Xiangzi replied: "I don't know." Then he passed away. Later, Han Xiangzi converted Han Yu again, and Han Yu finally became an immortal. (No pictures, welcome to provide.) (No pictures, welcome to provide.)
