Tea Mountain Fair, a traditional dance project in the first batch of representative projects of municipal intangible cultural heritage. "Tea Mountain Fair" is a unique folk song and dance in Tangquan Town, also known as tea picking lantern dance. It was popular in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. It was performed every year during the Spring Festival and the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. It can be performed on stage or in villages. There are 13 actors in total, one man is the "lantern clown" and the other 12 women are tea ladies. During the performance, they sing and dance with the accompaniment of gongs and drums. The content of the song is mostly to praise the hard work and wisdom of the working people and the love life of young men and women. In 1956, the song and dance "Tea Mountain Fair" represented Jiangpu County in the rural art performance of Zhenjiang District, and received many colleagues from all over the country who came to seek advice every day. At that time, the Shanghai Red Flag Song and Dance Troupe had sent people to Tangquan area many times to collect folk songs about "Tea Mountain Fair", and then reprocessed them after returning and performed them in Shanghai, which was warmly welcomed. "Tea Mountain Fair" was performed in Europe and praised by international friends. In 1959, the former Tangquan Commune Art Troupe accepted the invitation of Nanjing City to perform "Tea Mountain Meeting" in the tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. In 1983, Tangquan's "Tea Mountain Meeting" was transferred from the County Cultural Center to the Nanjing Military Club to participate in the art performance organized by the Ministry of Culture. In 1986, "Tea Picking Dance" was selected into the "Chinese Folk Song and Dance Collection" (Jiangsu Volume). "Tea Mountain Meeting" is a folk song and dance with Tangquan Town's characteristics. It has a unique performance form and rich content.
