Baoan folk songs refer to the Shiyan folk songs, Dapeng folk songs, Longgang folk songs, Jiulong folk songs, etc. that are popular in the former Baoan County. Their common characteristics are that they are basically four-line and five-line seven-character songs, most of which have one word and one tone, and occasionally one word has multiple tones. Some melodies are high-pitched and bright, while others are gentle and affectionate; the singing forms include solo and duet. The main inheritors are Dai Jianping (76 years old), Ye Yongliang (86 years old), Chi Guanhua (66 years old), Liao Bao (70 years old), etc.
