In 2010, it was selected as a county-level intangible cultural heritage. The Shennong Temple Fair is a folk festival in Dongkeng. The celebration is a folk activity of traditional beliefs, lifestyles, habits and rituals that ordinary people have always preserved in fragmentary changes or relatively stable forms and continue to exist to this day. The Shennong Temple Fair generally takes one year as a cycle, and there are four activities every year. The first one is in the first month of the lunar calendar (the day of the election) to "promise blessings" to the Holy Emperor Shennong, praying that the ancestors will bless the descendants of Yanhuang with no disasters and troubles throughout the year, peace in the country, good weather, and peace and prosperity. The second one is in April to commemorate the birthday of the national ancestor. The third one is the "warm blessing" activity in June, which means to ask the ancestors to keep safe again. The fourth one is the "reward blessing" celebration in December. According to the temple fair activities at that time, the county magistrates of successive generations, first the county magistrate of Haifeng County, and later the county magistrates of Lufeng County, personally led officials, literati (Jinshi, Juren, Xiucai, Gongsheng, Gongshi, Jiansheng, etc.), clan leaders of various surnames, village gods, and various agricultural and industrial people to set up a tribute table in the main hall of Shennong Emperor, offering tea, food, five vegetarian dishes, five fruits, cake trays, lanterns, and later pigs, sheep, and three animals. The first and the deacon, the descendants of Yanhuang burned incense and kowtowed to Shennong Saint Emperor, read the memorials, recited the sacrificial texts, played music, big gongs and drums, bands, golden lions, operas, "moving the Eight Immortals", "giving a child with a thousand gold coins", and believers receiving children and other traditional ceremonies. Since 1995, the members of the annual temple fair activities should make three announcements in front of the statue of Shennong Saint Emperor, and the prime minister, prime minister and council members will preside over the annual temple fair.
