Legend of Babaoshan
Babaoshan area is backed by Babaoshan, Heishan and Laoshan in the north, and a slightly inclined plain formed by the alluvial deposits of Yongding River in the south. Its contents include the legend of farming folk customs about the origin of Babaoshan Babao; the legend of emperors and generals from King Zhao of Yan, Emperor Taizu of Liao, Yelü Abaoji to Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty; the legend of imperial examination culture about Dou Yanshan in the Later Zhou Dynasty of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms founded the "Wuhuayuan" in Huangzhuang and educated his five sons to pass the imperial examinations; the red culture legend related to Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery; the national culture legend reflecting the gradual integration of the Han nationality and ethnic minorities from plundering and crusade; the tomb stele culture legend related to the Laoshan Han Tomb, the Huafang Tomb of the Western Jin Dynasty, the Lü Family Tomb of the Jin Dynasty, the Gangyi Tomb, etc. The legend of Babaoshan has distinct regional characteristics, diverse themes, and ingenious spirituality. Many legends are closely related to the place names in the Babaoshan area, showing the people's yearning for happiness, hatred of evil, hard work, and the beautiful pursuit of protecting their hometown. It also adds the color of human faith and curiosity. The rich content of the Babaoshan legend, as a kind of "oral history" of the people, has to a certain extent filled the gaps in the official history of important historical events and historical figures, further enriched the historical figures, and reproduced the historical style of the people.
