The Legend of Wuyan Niangniang
Legend of Lady Wuyan In the north of Daqing, there is an ancient city of Wuyan. In the early years, there was a girl named Zhonglichun. Although Miss Zhonglichun was ugly, she was virtuous, talented and ambitious. She was over 30 years old and had never thought about her personal marriage. She was concerned about national affairs and thought about good strategies for governing the country. But the king of Qi at that time was incompetent and only knew how to eat, drink and have fun, regardless of the lives of the people, which led to the gradual weakening of the country. Miss Zhonglichun saw it in her eyes and was anxious in her heart. She was thinking about how to meet the King of Qi and present her own prescription for healing the country. Zhonglichun's sister-in-law looked at Zhonglichun, who was not fragrant all day, and knew her thoughts. She persuaded her lovingly: "We are grass and trees, how can we meet the King of Qi. Besides, even if we meet the King of Qi, you are a country girl, a commoner, how can the King of Qi listen to your persuasion?" But Miss Zhonglichun was unwilling. One day, Zhonglichun and her sister-in-law went up the mountain to pick mulberry leaves. Suddenly, they heard someone shouting, "The King of Qi is coming!" Then they saw many people running down the mountain in a panic. The sister-in-law pulled Zhonglichun and turned around to run down the mountain, but Zhonglichun broke free from her sister-in-law's hand and said, "I was just about to see him, and he's here." The sister-in-law quickly grabbed her and said, "Silly sister, this is not a joke. If you go, what will happen to you? How can I explain to our parents when I go back?" "Don't worry, sister-in-law, for the sake of the country's prosperity, I must meet the King of Qi!" As she said this, she pushed away her sister-in-law's obstruction and ran up the mountain. As Zhonglichun was walking, she saw a rabbit jumping around on the side of the road. She went over to see that it was injured. She reached out to grab the rabbit, but saw a guard with an arrow running over and shouting, "Hey! That's the rabbit the king hunted, give it back to me!" "Where is the king?" "Stop talking nonsense and give me the rabbit!" Zhongli Chun glared at her: "Give you the rabbit? If you can't see the king, you can forget about the rabbit?" The guard had no choice but to take her to see the King of Qi. When Zhongli Chun saw the King of Qi, she put down the rabbit, knelt on her knees and said, "My daughter Zhongli Chun greets the King." The King of Qi said, "What do you want to say? Speak now!" But Zhongli Chun stopped talking and started sobbing. After crying for a while, she opened her eyes wide, raised her hands, slapped her knees and said, "It's dangerous." She started crying again, cried for a while, opened her eyes wide, raised her hands, slapped her knees and said, "It's dangerous." She repeated this four times, leaving the King of Qi completely confused. He said, "Don't cry anymore. I'll take care of everything for you. Stand up and talk. Don't be afraid. Just talk." Zhongli Chun stood up and said, "Your Majesty, the Qin State to our west is powerful and is eyeing us covetously. The Chu State to our south is against us and is hostile. If they join forces to attack Qi, Qi will be finished. This is one of the dangers. King Qi, you are now unable to distinguish between loyalty and treachery, and you only listen to one side. Some treacherous ministers have gathered in the court. Those who are related to you and flatter you have all become officials. The upright and talented people are all loyal to you. Being ostracized, demoted, or fleeing. Evil ministers are in power, villains are successful, the government is in chaos, the country is in decline, and people are not loyal. This is the second danger; now the country is not prosperous, the people are poor, but the king does not care about the people's suffering, still seizes migrant workers, collects wealth, and builds luxurious palaces in the capital, so that large tracts of land are barren, and entire villages and households of people starve to death. Without people and food, won't the country perish? This is the third danger; in such a severe situation of internal and external troubles, "Your Majesty, you don't think about state affairs, don't discuss ways to enrich the people and strengthen the country with your subjects, don't think about how to be friendly with neighboring countries, but hang out with palace maids all day. If the enemy breaks in, won't Qi's country be over? This is the fourth danger. I said "danger" four times, that's what I meant!" After hearing this, the King of Qi was depressed for a long time, sighed, and said, "Oh, this is indeed my fault. Wuyan Jun's words are really like thunder in my ears, which awakened me from my dream!" The King of Qi changed as he said. After returning to the palace, according to what Zhongli Chun said, he immediately issued an imperial decree to stop repairing the Jiantai, dismiss treacherous officials, appoint wise men, reward farming and weaving, and train soldiers and horses. The King of Qi also brought Zhongli Chun into the palace, worshipped her as queen, and assisted in handling government affairs. From then on, Qi became strong and the people lived a peaceful life. People admired Zhongli Chun's noble character of being upright and serving the people, and respectfully called her "Niang Wuyan". Since then, the story of Zhong Lichun, the Queen Mother of No Salt, has been widely spread and passed down through the ages. (No pictures yet, please provide them.)
