The traditional clothes of the Huayao Yi are finely crafted and exquisite. It often takes a clever girl three or four years to complete a set of clothes. Among them, it is necessary to master various techniques such as embroidery, picking flowers, scattering flowers, pressing flowers, buckling flowers, threading flowers, piling flowers, patching cloth, and hooking. The Huayao girl began to learn embroidery under the guidance of her elders when she was seven or eight years old. After several years of hard study and practice, she became an embroidery expert when she was fourteen or fifteen years old and could embroider exquisite clothes independently.
