Feather paintings are divided into Kunming feather paintings and Dali feather paintings. Kunming feather paintings have pictures reflecting the characters of ethnic minorities in Yunnan, with patterns such as hundreds of birds paying homage to the phoenix, as well as images of Yunnan Stone Forest, Xishan Longmen, Black Dragon Pond, Daguan Tower and exotic flowers. Dali feather paintings are mainly characterized by reflecting the ethnic minorities and landscapes in the Bai area of Dali, such as Bai girls, Cangshan and Erhai Lake, Three Pagodas, Butterfly Spring, etc. Feather paintings are made by hand-gluing the feathers of abundant wild birds and poultry in Yunnan according to designed patterns. It has the characteristics of natural color, strong three-dimensional sense, never fading, and beautiful appearance.
