The traditional Yi costumes in Nanjian are carved and embroidered with various styles. Men's costumes include big white raizi, leather collar jacket, double-breasted clothes, and trousers; women's costumes mainly include folded headscarves, tops, waistcoats, collar jackets, and trousers. Regardless of men's or women's clothing, Yi costumes are embroidered with patterns and patterns, and children's clothing is decorated with tiger ornaments made of gold, silver, copper, etc. Among these costumes, the most conspicuous is the headdress of Yi girls, which is made of dozens of different colored fabrics and inlaid with more than 200 large and small silver bubbles. Some are shaped like cockscombs, also known as "cockscomb hats". Some silver osmanthus and bright bubbles are inlaid around the embroidered headdresses, so they are also called "osmanthus hats". Some also have a silver flower holder nailed to the back of the headdress, and three or more colorful velvet flower clusters are inserted, also known as "cherry blossom hats". These headdresses are unique and attractive. Most married women's headdresses have metal ornaments on the forehead, and "folded flowers" and "fine rice oil beads" on the back of the head. Most Yi people like light red, white, blue, green and other colors. Yi girls wear colorful clothes, tie embroidered waistbands, and hang silver "plum blossom chains" around their necks. Matching with exquisite and unique headdresses, they naturally form a flawless festival dress. In the Yi folk songs, it is sung: "Little white clothes, green collar jacket, jade green pants are pleasing to the heart", which is actually a praise for Yi costumes. In 1996, Nanjian Yi costumes participated in the National Ethnic Minority Costumes Exhibition and were highly praised by domestic and foreign experts and guests, and were considered to have great development value.
