The Songfeng Mountain Temple Fair began during the reign of Jin Xizong. In 1148, Xiao Baozhen, the founder of the Taiyi Sect, was summoned to Jin Shangjing to seek Taoism and treat the queen's illness. Since then, the spring temple fair has been held from the 17th to the 19th day of the fourth lunar month every year. The Songfeng Mountain Temple Fair is divided into two parts: Taoist god worship and commercial shopping, among which Taoist god worship is the core content of the temple fair. The temple fair began to be prepared in the first month of the year. The Mountain God Festival was held on the 16th day of the third lunar month. The birthday of Lu Zu was on the 14th day of the fourth lunar month. Pilgrims began to go to the temple fair at midnight on the 17th day of the fourth lunar month. At each place, they had to kowtow three times and bow nine times, invite gods to offer sacrifices, light candles and incense, accumulate incense and burn tablets, and kowtow. After each kowtow, the Taoists would ring the bell to show the gods. After kowtow, they would donate merit money to the merit box to show "thank the mountain". The Taoists worshiped the Doutai and set up an altar, with the left and right assistants of the Big Dipper. In the altar, three platforms and thirteen lamps were lit, with 108 lamp flowers. They recited the Beidou Sutra, followed the star edict, and prayed for happiness, wealth and longevity.
