A unique grand festival for the Miao people. Every year around the Qingming Festival, the Miao people organize a fish-killing activity with tens of thousands of people participating. The activity is held at a river section of about 10 kilometers along the Qingshui River at the junction of Kaiyang, Guiting, Longli and Fuquan counties. On this day, the Miao people in each village along the river in the four counties, led by the "fisherman" (leader), went out with their entire village. Men found forks and carried medicine (spring fragrant leaves), and women dressed in their best clothes, carrying "Yami" (fish rice) and rice on their shoulders, gathered on the river bank, forming a human wall several kilometers long. At the command of the fisherman, the people who threw the medicine threw the bags into the river together. After a while, the steel forks flew and stabbed, and big fish were killed one after another, with cheers coming one after another. As night fell, the Miao people built a fire and boiled the skewer, toasted each other in the singing, and wished each other good luck and good harvest in advance. Unmarried men and women hid in the night and sang songs to express their feelings. The whole activity was grand, unique in style and interesting.
