Mountain worship ceremony
The Mountain Sacrifice Meeting is a traditional festival of the Qiang people. It is a sacrificial activity to pray for a good harvest. Except for married women, all the people in the village must bring wine, meat and steamed buns to the meeting. The head of the meeting is taken turns by all the households in the village. At that time, the head of the meeting must prepare a black ram, a red rooster, a jar of Zajiu, 3 catties of pork, a bucket of highland barley, a large steamed bun made of 13 catties of flour, incense, candles, firecrackers, paper money, etc., and arrange them according to the regulations. The "Xu" (witch) will preside over the sacrifice, praying that the gods of heaven and the mountain will bless the whole village with longevity and a good harvest. The goat will be slaughtered and cooked, and distributed to each household together with other foods, which were called "scattered members" in the past. Finally, everyone sits on the ground and tastes each other's sacrificial food. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
