The Torch Festival of the Yi Nationality is the most important traditional festival of the Yi Nationality in Hezhang County, Guizhou Province. It is held on the 24th day of the sixth lunar month every year. The Yi Nationality is the most populous ethnic minority in Hezhang County and retains a strong ethnic traditional cultural characteristics. The local Yi language calls the Torch Festival "Duo Tiao Ji". The origin, festival period and festival activities are the same as those of the Yi Torch Festival in other places. It is mainly popular in villages where the Yi Nationality lives. This project is of great significance to enhancing the cohesion of the ethnic group and promoting national unity.
