Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture is the main settlement of Miao people. There are more than 1.7 million Miao people, accounting for a quarter of the total Miao population in China. The Miao people are known as "every herb is medicine, and everyone knows how to be a doctor". There are sayings among the Miao people that "Miao medicine has existed for thousands of years, and Miao medicine has existed for tens of thousands of years", "three thousand Miao medicines, and eight hundred prescriptions". The Miao people have unique ways and methods for the etiology, diagnosis, medication, naming, processing, and health care of diseases, forming a theoretical system of two principles, five classics, thirty-six major symptoms, seventy-two diseases, one hundred and eight minor symptoms, and forty-nine flips. There are more than 200 diseases mastered by Miao medicine, widely involving internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, and bone injuries. Among them, the external treatment method is unique, and the famous ones include fumigation, rolling eggs, water, stepping on the plow mouth, picking tendons, foaming, fire needles, blasting lights, scraping, etc., which are very effective in treating bone setting, knife and arrow gunshot wounds, and snake and insect bites. Jiujie Tea is an ointment-type medicine, which comes from the Miao medicine experience prescriptions in Jinping County, Rongjiang County, Huangping County and other places in Qiandongnan Autonomous Prefecture. Its prescription comes from the Miao medicine Yang family in Jinping County. The prescription of Jiujie Tea is mainly 1500 grams of Jiujie Tea, 1200 grams of wild grape root, 1000 grams of water Panax notoginseng, 800 grams of water wax gourd, 500 grams of rolling mountain beads, and 500 grams of crab. The production process is to weigh the medicine according to the prescription, and put rolling mountain beads, crabs, and white wax separately. First, break the Jiujie Tea, water wax gourd, water Panax notoginseng, wild grape root and other medicines into fine pieces, and grind the rolling mountain beads and crabs into fine powder and pass through 80100 mesh fine sieves. For frying, take 1500 grams of tea seed oil, pour it into the pot and heat it, and fry the Jiujie Tea, water wax gourd, water Panax notoginseng, wild grape root, etc. until they are dry and yellow, then remove the residue and filter. To make the ointment, take 500 grams of white wax and add it to the medicinal oil to dissolve, pour it into a jar and wait for it to warm up, add rolling beads and crab powder, and stir well to make the ointment. Store it in an enamel jar or ceramic jar, seal it and place it in a cool place indoors, away from high heat. The effect of Jiujie Tea is to disperse blood and reduce swelling, repair tendons and fix bones. It is mainly used to treat fractures, injuries and swelling, and is an important part of Miao medicine. The Miao people have no written language, and the inheritance of Miao medicine is very fragile, and it is urgently needed to increase protection efforts.
