Tibetan medicine is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine and an important representative of Chinese ethnic medicine. Tibetan medicine has a long history. It is the medical experience accumulated by the Tibetan people in the special environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Its classic work "Four Medical Classics" was written in the Tubo Dynasty in the second half of the 8th century AD by the famous Tibetan medical scientist Yutuo Yuandan Gongbu. Tibetan medicine is combined with Tibetan astronomy and calendar, and is a huge and complex medical system. Tibetan medicine is based on the theory of the five elements of "water, fire, earth, wind, and space" and the theory of the three elements of "dragon, Tripa, and Bacon". It uses plants, animals, minerals and some "southern medicines" from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as basic medicines, and adopts a medical practice method that adapts to the plateau environment and nomadic life. It has a unique therapeutic effect on common diseases, frequently occurring diseases, and endemic diseases in the hypoxic environment of the plateau, and its health culture is increasingly valued by the medical community. Due to the vast territory of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, high mountains and fast-flowing rivers, the ethnic and regional characteristics of Tibetan medicine culture are relatively obvious. The diagnosis, medical skills and drugs of Tibetan medicine often differ from region to region and from school to school. In recent decades, with the construction of Tibetan medicine and the extensive development of academic exchanges, the inheritance and promotion of Tibetan medicine have achieved remarkable results. Tibetan medicine processing is a pharmaceutical technology that is adopted according to the theory of Tibetan medicine to diagnose and treat diseases, according to the needs of medication and the properties of the medicine itself, as well as the different requirements of adjustment and preparation. Tibetan medicine processing is a unique traditional pharmaceutical technology for preparing Tibetan medicine slices based on Tibetan medicine theory. This unique technology in Tibet has greatly improved the utilization efficiency of Tibetan medicinal materials. Most Tibetan medicinal materials cannot be used raw and must be processed before they can be used in clinical practice. The purpose of processing medicinal materials is to remove impurities and non-medicinal parts; second, to eliminate or reduce the toxicity, potency or side effects of the drug; third, to change the performance of the drug to make it suitable for clinical needs; and fourth, to facilitate preparation and storage. Tibetan medicine processing includes three major processes: cleaning, cutting and roasting. Different specifications of medicinal pieces have different processing techniques. Some medicinal pieces need to be steamed, fried, calcined and other high-temperature treatments. Some medicinal pieces also need to add special auxiliary materials such as wine, vinegar, salt, milk, medicinal juice, etc. and then be processed at high temperature. Finally, the medicinal pieces of various specifications can reach the specified purity, thickness, safety and effectiveness quality standards. The Tibetan medicine processing technology contains a unique "trick" to increase efficacy and reduce toxicity. It is not only used in Tibetan medicine decoctions, but also the technical basis for the production of Tibetan finished medicines. It is of great significance to rescue and protect this traditional medicine processing method.
