"Spring flower", called "Spring flower" in southern Fujian, is a variety of flower tying. The custom of tying and wearing "Spring flower" has existed in my country for a long time and is widely spread in China. The "Xiamen Chronicle" has recorded the custom of tying flowers, calling it "symbolic flower", which is actually a kind of paper artificial flower. "Spring" and "leftover" in Minnan dialect are homophonic, symbolizing surplus every year. During various festivals, women wear a spring flower, which means they hope for good weather, good harvests, and surplus every year. The custom of tying and wearing "Spring flower" in southern Fujian, especially in Hongcuo Village, Xindian Town, Xiang'an District, can be traced back to more than 400 years ago. According to research, during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Hong Chaoxuan, who served as the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice in Beijing, returned to his hometown to worship his ancestors during the Lantern Festival. During the ceremony, he found that all the offerings were decorated with spring flowers, and the servants and servants who followed him also had spring flowers on their heads, which was pleasing to the eye, and this aroused Hong Chaoxuan's great interest. So Hong Chaoxuan asked his family and maids to learn to make spring flowers. Driven by Hong Chaoxuan, the surplus labor force of every household in Hongcuo Village also made spring flowers. The custom of making spring flowers was thus passed down in the southern Fujian region and developed into a practice where people would wear various types of spring flowers on their heads during festivals, weddings, and funerals. Flower-making is a handmade flower-making technique that is mainly sewing and combined with sewing and tying. It has the characteristics of a wide range of expressions, delicate depictions, and endless changes. All kinds of "spring flowers" are in the shape of ingots, and miniature "pomegranate flowers", "plum flowers", "lantern flowers" and other shapes are carefully tied inside. In Hongcuo Village, there are more than 10 varieties of flower-tying. According to customary usage, "Spring Flowers" are divided into ordinary "Spring Flowers" that can be used in various occasions throughout the year, "Bridal Flowers" and "Mother-in-law Flowers" used at weddings, "Children's Flowers" and "Longevity Flowers" used for wishes, and "Reply Flowers" used for funerals. "Spring Flowers" are simple, elegant, natural, and generous. They have both high artistic appreciation value and strong practicality. With the development of society, people's lives have changed a lot, especially the change of women's hairstyles. The use of this kind of head flower in Xiamen is becoming less and less. However, this traditional custom originated from Hongcuo Village can be preserved in Zhangzhou, Quanzhou and other places, in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and in the residences of overseas Chinese compatriots. The products are in short supply. The villagers of Hongcuo Village call it "flowers blooming inside the wall and fragrant outside the wall." Therefore, it is of special value to rescue it. However, due to the low price of the product, people's enthusiasm for tying flowers has gradually declined and has entered an endangered state. It is hoped that the Chunzaihua custom, the crystallization of the wisdom of women in Hongcuo Village, which has been passed down for a hundred years, can be better inherited under the guidance of Hong Baoye, Hong Suzhen, Hong Xiaoyu and Hong Lina, the inheritors of Chunzaihua at the municipal level.
