Miao wedding songs are lyrical ballads sung by the Miao people in Chengbu during wedding ceremonies. The main songs include "Wine Songs", "Crying Wedding Songs" and "Congratulations to the Man". They originated from the ancient folk songs and marriage customs of the Miao people. They are traditional folk songs that have been accumulated and evolved in the long-term labor life and national customs of the Miao people and passed down by word of mouth. They are mainly circulated in the Miao gathering areas such as Wutuan, Tingping, Zhennan, Tuqiao and Dankou in Chengbu. Miao wedding songs have a long history, profound cultural heritage and extremely rich content. "Wine Songs" is divided into ten chapters, with many lines and words. It starts with the etiquette of the Miao family, tells the ins and outs of the Miao people, and sings the heroic history of the ancestors; "Crying Wedding Songs" are accompanied by crying, and the forms are various, including mother and daughter crying, aunt and sister-in-law crying, sisters crying, etc. It mainly expresses the mixed feelings of the bride-to-be, and the longing for her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, sisters, and neighbors. The song is sad and touching. "He Lang Song" is a blessing song sung in the bridal chamber. It is festive and joyful. The lyrics are improvised by the singers, mainly expressing everyone's congratulations to the bride and groom for their happy future marriage. Miao wedding songs are all sung in Miao language. They are like complaints and tears, with beautiful melodies and pleasant to listen to. They are both lingering and lyrical, touching and tearful, and passionate and high-pitched, inspiring.
