Songzi Rolling Lantern Dance (Songzi City): A traditional folk dance form that is popular in Songzi. According to historical records, it has a history of at least 700 years. The famous Southern Song poet Fan Chengda wrote in his poem that "throwing a candle in the air is stable (small ball rolling lantern), and pushing a ball to the ground is light (big ball rolling lantern)". In the preface to the poem "Wheel Lantern" by Peng Sunyi, a scholar from Haiyan in the Qing Dynasty, there is a description that "children tie bamboo to make a wheel, which rotates and turns, but the lantern does not fall out. Strong men operate it, and it is thrown endlessly in the streets, which is called rolling lantern". Rolling lantern is a sport that combines dance, acrobatics and sports. Most dancers are men, and the performances are mainly solo and double. It has now evolved into a group of people dancing lanterns, and women also participate. The rolling lantern consists of movements such as juggling with ball, wrapping waist, jumping lanterns, etc. There are titles such as white pigeon laying eggs, spider releasing silk, taking off boots while wrapping waist and foot, golden monkey playing with ball, sunset in the west, carp rolling in water plants, partridge rushing to the king, etc. It combines various hard and soft sports and dance movements such as jumping, rolling, climbing, running, turning, spinning, leaping, jumping, and swinging. The rolling lantern consists of nine sets of 27 movements.
