Qiantongtaige
A folk custom in Qiantong Town, Ninghai. This folk custom originated on the 14th day of the first lunar month in the third year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1508). At that time, Tong Jile, a villager in the village, led the people to successfully build water conservancy projects. In order to commemorate him, the villagers held a guild on the Lantern Festival of that year and made a pavilion and a drum pavilion. Since then, this custom has been passed down. On this day, the villagers gathered in front and behind to carry the pavilion, and moved forward in an orderly manner. Along the way, there were drums and music, cannons, and people were bustling, full of joy of harvest. Before and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, the village guild stopped, and most of the pavilions and drum pavilions were lost. In recent years, under the organization of the local government, the folk custom of Qiantong carrying the pavilion has been restored in the Lantern Festival.
