Baoguo Temple Restoration Techniques
The traditional architectural restoration technique of Baoguo Temple is a model of traditional Chinese architectural techniques. Among them, the first gate was relocated from a residential building in Ningbo City in the late Qing Dynasty; the Tianwang Hall was rebuilt in the third year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1911), and is a masterpiece of late Qing Dynasty architecture; the main hall was rebuilt in the sixth year of the Dazhong Xiangfu reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (1013), and is one of the oldest and most intact wooden structures in southern my country; the Guanyin Hall was first built during the Shaoxing period of Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty, and was rebuilt in the fifty-second year of Emperor Qianlong (1787), and is an example of the mutual learning and integration of traditional residential buildings and religious buildings in Ningbo; the Sutra Library was built in the twenty-third year of the Republic of China (1934), and is the latest building in the entire complex. Although there have been no major construction projects since then, it has been continuously maintained and repaired, and has been completely preserved through generations of repairs to this day, gradually forming a unique inheritance system for the repair of ancient buildings.
