Wang's large lantern making is a kind of super large lantern making skill distributed in Shangwang Village, Shiqiaotou Town. Large lanterns are mainly used for Lantern Festival activities. As early as the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, they were famous for their "high, large and exquisite" in the six counties of Taizhou. Wang's large lantern making has a long history. It is said that it began in the 20th year of Emperor Kangxi. The existing stone tablet "Liangbao Inscription" has the words "the 16th year of Jiaqing" and "welcoming lanterns". The folk song "Welcoming the large lanterns at Shangwang Bridge, snow meteors at Xiaojia Bridge, mustard leaves at Yangjia Bridge are peeled to see the stems, and the girl at Xiahuang Bridge is snatched away and nowhere to be found" has been circulated among the local people for a long time, reflecting the grand occasion of welcoming lanterns at that time from another aspect. Wang's large lanterns are divided into two pagoda-style large lanterns, dragon and phoenix, which are shaped like pagodas with seven floors. Various kinds of paper-cut works and figure flower and bird paintings are posted on the eaves and around the walls of each floor. There are also open treasure umbrellas and particularly exaggerated gourd-shaped treasure temples on the top of the lamp. The height of the lamp was initially 12-16 meters, and later developed to more than 20 meters. The whole lamp is composed of five parts: lamp foot, lamp body, edge pool, Hu Luo, and blue lotus. The diameter of the lamp frame is about 3 meters, and the circumference of the lamp body is more than 10 meters. Each large lamp weighs more than one ton. The 20.8-meter-high "Welcome to the Olympics" lantern exhibited in 2008 is unique in the country and can be regarded as a unique folk lantern craft in my country.
