Rongshui Horse Racing Festival
Horse Fighting Festival The Miao people in Antai, Dongtou, Sirong, Xiangfen, Anchui and other townships in the northwestern mountainous area of Rongshui like to fight horses for fun. It is said that five hundred years ago, girls liked to marry horse fighters. In the love field, if there was a "triangle" or "four-corner" love between several men and one woman, the Miao king would organize a horse fighting competition to determine the winner and loser to decide the girl's belonging. Naturally, the girl happily married the winner of the horse fighting. After hundreds of years of evolution, the original horse fighting activities that played a role in marriage arbitration have gradually become today's mass festival entertainment competition activities. Now every year's traditional festivals of the Miao people (such as the Spring Festival, the New Grain Festival, the Lusheng Festival, etc.) are inseparable from horse fighting activities. In 1987, the county people's government designated the county celebration day--November 26 as the Horse Fighting Festival. In 2004, the county party committee and the people's government decided to change the Horse Fighting Festival to the "Rongshui Lusheng Horse Fighting Festival." (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
