Yangshuo Nuo Dance
Yangshuo Nuo Dance Yangshuo Nuo Dance is an ancient folk performing art, commonly known as the Master Dance and the Ghost Dancer, with a history of more than 2,000 years. In the villages of Yangshuo, Nuo dance is often used to drive away ghosts and epidemics. As time goes by, it gradually develops into a Nuo opera with characters and storylines. This kind of Nuo dance performance is still performed by the people of Yangshuo. In 1956, the Central Institute for Nationalities came to Yangshuo to collect folk songs about Nuo dance and rescue cultural heritage. It also recorded and videotaped the dance and collected the original materials of Nuo dance. In recent years, with the continuous development of Yangshuo's tourism industry, Tan Dance, as a folk dance art, has been reorganized and rehearsed to perform for Chinese and foreign tourists.
