Chaozhou ceramics have a long history. In Fengxi, there were found shell sites and pottery dating back more than 6,000 years, as well as the remains of kiln sites from the Tang and Song dynasties. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Fengxi Zhuni pot products were unique and widely used. The production skills have been passed down from generation to generation and have continued to this day. Fengxi hand-pulled Zhuni pots are made by using the rotating pottery-making technique of a wheel throwing machine and are formed by hand-pulling. Zhuni pots are made of red clay from local pottery mines. The production process involves nearly 60 processes such as pulling, repairing, plastering, water supply, paddle supply, and firing. The fired products have the characteristics of exquisite shape, simple lines, rich color, and high smoothness. Fengxi Zhuni pots have many varieties, prominent themes, and elegant style. They have both craftsmanship and practical functions. In 2014, the Fengxi hand-pulled Zhuni pot production technique was selected into the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
