The Nine-bend Yellow River Lantern Array originated from the Nine-bend Yellow River Array set up by Zhao Gongming in "Investiture of the Gods". It refers to the Nine Palaces set with Eight Diagrams. The lantern array refers to the array formed by 365 different lanterns in 365 days a year, called the "Nine-bend Yellow River Lantern Array". The array is paired with couplets, the upper couplet is "fire trees and silver flowers", and the lower couplet is "Nine-bend Yellow River". Zhao Gongming is guarding the turntable lantern array, which is the first of the Eight Diagrams, "Kan Gua", and his three sisters Zhao Yunxiao, Zhao Qiongxiao, and Zhao Bixiao are guarding it separately. Its nine palaces are the "Nine Palaces in the Head", which means that the human brain is divided into nine parts, that is, the nine orifices of a person. The Book of Changes has sixty-four trigrams. In addition to the four trigrams of Qian, Kun, Kan, and Li, the remaining sixty trigrams are for fire. The sixty trigrams have three hundred and sixty lines, which corresponds to the number of three hundred and sixty hours for a boat. Therefore, the Yellow River Nine Bends Eight Trigrams Formation is composed of three hundred and sixty lamps. The 360 lanterns are not only different from each other, but also divided into the lanterns of the Upper Eight Immortals, the Lower Eight Immortals, the lanterns of hundreds of birds, the lanterns of animals, plus the lanterns of Qian, Kun, Kan, Li and a central axis turntable, totaling 365 lanterns.
