Sichuan Opera Sitting Performance at Tieniu Street
Sichuan opera is a major feature of Sichuan culture. Chengdu is the hometown of drama. As early as the Tang Dynasty, there was a saying that "Shu opera is the best in the world". During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, on the basis of the local Chedeng Opera, the vocal styles of Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hubei, Shaanxi and Gansu were absorbed and integrated to form "Sichuan opera" sung in Sichuan dialect, which contains five vocal styles: Gaoqiang, Huqin, Kunqiang, Dengxi and Danxi. Among them, Sichuan opera Gaoqiang has rich tunes, beautiful and moving singing styles, and the most local characteristics. It is the main singing form of Sichuan opera. The chorus of Sichuan opera is even more fascinating. The language of Sichuan opera is lively and humorous, full of distinct local colors, rich life atmosphere and broad mass base. There are hundreds of repertoires commonly seen on the stage, with singing, acting, reciting and fighting, witty and humorous, instrumental chorus, "face changing", "fire breathing" and "water sleeves" are unique, and the freehand stylized movements contain endless wonderful tastes. Sichuan opera is loved by the world and has traveled across the oceans and spread all over the world. The Tieniu Street Sichuan Opera Singing Troupe in Fucheng District, Mianyang City, organized by the troupe leader Zhou Yongxiu, has performed 692 shows since its premiere on June 10, 2006, receiving about 145,000 people as of May 12, 2008. After the 5.12 earthquake that shocked China and the world, the troupe, with the strong support of leaders at all levels and enthusiastic people, restored and rebuilt at the fastest speed and officially resumed business on September 5, insisting on performing every day regardless of rain or shine, providing a good place for the community to calm the people and repair their hearts, and providing a platform for drama lovers to interpret passionate life. In order to pass on the intangible cultural and artistic heritage of Sichuan Opera, the troupe has carried out the Sichuan Opera into campus activities, allowing audiences under the age of 30 to watch the opera for free, sending free tickets to 206 communities in Mianyang City, and recruiting Sichuan Opera students for free, so that more young people can understand and love Sichuan Opera. The troupe focuses on inheriting, carrying forward, promoting and popularizing Sichuan Opera, which is the sacred responsibility and obligation of the troupe!
