"Chongming Wind and Percussion Music", also known as "Knocking Ten Bands", "Blowing and Drumming Hands", and "Doing Daochang", is an ancient music genre that has been circulated in Chongming County, Shanghai, and the Sha dialect area of Qidong City and Haimen City, Jiangsu Province, with a history of more than 500 years. In the early Ming Dynasty, "Ten Bands" and "Blowing and Drumming" were introduced to Chongming and passed down from generation to generation. "Chongming Wind and Percussion Music" has more than 80 pieces of music, which are divided into "single songs" and "suites". Single songs usually start with Qing gongs and drums, followed by wind music, and then turn to gongs and drums to end; suites are generally played with gongs and drums to connect three to five songs. The number of people in a wind and percussion class is generally six to sixteen, and the playing postures are divided into "sitting", "standing", and "walking". In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, "Chongming Wind and Percussion Music" turned from family and relatives to social inheritance, so there were more than 20 performance groups in the 1950s. "Chongming Wind and Percussion Music" retains the ancient charm and style of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a rare and authentic traditional wind and percussion music. The "old three classes" that were well-known and well-known in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China were the "Ma Family Class" in Miao Town, the "Lu Family Class" in Xinhe Town, and the "Tong Family Class" in Chengqiao Town, which had superb skills and were passed down for 16 generations. They were called "Ma Family Drummer Lu Shifan and 16th Generation Dojo Tong Family Class". After 1950, the "Jiang Family Class" in Sanxing Township, the "Ding Family Class" in Xinhe Town, the "Chunyangtan" in Xinhe Town, and the "Huang Family Class" in Daxin Township, which were of comparable level, appeared. The existing wind and percussion suites include "Zhu Sanmu Xiaochao Tianzi Feibu Jia Ru Zai Guanqian Da Kaimen Huangying Xiaochao Tianzi Dao Ruli" and "Sa Jin Youhu Le Jiangjun Ling He Ye Baoxie" as well as the string and bamboo gong and drum "Suyang Bridge".
