The ox-horn halberd is a long weapon made from the horns of an ox. It is about 1.6 meters long and weighs about 100 kilograms. The ox-horn halberd performance movements include blocking, twisting, pressing, framing, pushing, stabbing, picking, and teasing. The techniques and steps are mainly bow, empty, and bridge horse stance. The routes are divided into "four gates and eight corners". The defense is tight, the lower body is stable, flexible and changeable, and the postures are connected and interlocked. Because the performer steps on the center with one foot, the ox-horn dance is on the head, which is close to dancing. In the water town of Zhujiajiao, on the 27th day of the seventh lunar month every year, the "rocking speedboat" performance is performed on the Caogang River, and the ox-horn halberd dance is also performed on the fist boat. It has a history of about 200 years. During the performance, there is a gong and drum team next to it. Every time there are wonderful moves and shapes, it is accompanied by drum beats and gong music, which is wonderful and eye-catching. As a folk martial arts dance, Niujiaotong Dance is of great significance in inheriting folk martial arts wisdom, showing the folk customs of the Jiangnan water town, and strengthening the body.
