Qinghai Xiaqian
Qinghai Xiaxian originated in the late Qing Dynasty. It is a kind of folk art native to Qinghai. It is a sitting singing art, performed by one person or two people. Qinghai Xiaxian uses a unique Xiaxian tuning method to locate the accompaniment, and the accompanying instruments are sanxian and banhu. Its performance form is free and often performed on the spot. The main tune is "Xiaxian Diao", which has a rigorous structure and is suitable for narrative and lyricism. The singer can make corresponding changes according to the number of words, which is full of deep and touching artistic charm. Other tunes include "Imitation Xiaxian Diao", "Soft Xiaxian Diao", "Xiabei Gong", etc. Representative repertoires include "Lin Chong Buys a Knife", "Flowers in December", "Hongyan Sends Letters", etc. Qinghai Xiaxian has a high academic value for studying the history of folk art and music development in the Hehuang area. However, there are currently few inheritors (artists are proud of being able to sing Xiaxian), and there are not many who can sing independently. There are less than five people left, and they are in urgent need of rescue and protection. (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.) (No pictures yet, welcome to provide.)
