The Cultural Center of the Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio, and Television Bureau of Golmud City conducted a census of Haixi Mongolian costumes, embroidery production skills and related traditional cultural and artistic resources, visited folk cultural inheritors in depth, and deeply explored the basic information on historical origins, characteristics, survival and inheritance status, protection planning, etc., and recorded relevant pictures, videos, and text materials, mastering the inheritance, protection and development of intangible cultural heritage, which plays a fundamental role in the recommendation and application of national intangible cultural heritage representative projects. In September 2009, Golmud Mongolian costumes were declared as the third batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage representative protection projects; in May 2016, Golmud Town, Golmud City was selected as the "Mongolian Costume and Embroidery Handicraft Inheritance Base" in Haixi Prefecture; in 2011, Golmud Town, Golmud City was also awarded the title of "National Characteristic Culture Hometown" and "Woodcarving and Embroidery Hometown". In order to better inherit and develop the Haixi Mongolian folk embroidery skills, and to build a platform for experience exchange for inheritors and Haixi Mongolian folk embroidery enthusiasts, the Cultural Center of the Golmud Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Radio, Film and Television holds Haixi Mongolian costumes and folk embroidery training courses every year, organizes personnel to participate in large-scale cultural exchange activities and embroidery competitions, and carries out provincial-level inheritor apprenticeship ceremonies and other activities, thereby expanding the embroidery team and protecting and inheriting Haixi Mongolian costumes and folk embroidery skills.
