Los Katxc3xados National Natural Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Natural (PNN) Los Katxc3xados) is a protected area located in northwest Colombia which covers about 720xc2xa0km2 (280xc2xa0sqxc2xa0mi).
It is a part of the Darixc3xa9n Gap, a densely forested area shared by Panama and Colombia, and is contiguous with the Darixc3xa9n National Park in Panama.
It lends its name to a formation called 'catival' and is found nowhere in the world except Colombia, south Central America and Jamaica.

Due to its geographical location in northern Colombia on the southern edge of the Central American land bridge, this region served as a filter for the exchange of animal species between North and South America in the Tertiary and Pleistocene periods.
Extending over 72,000 hectares in north-western Colombia, the park is located in the Colombian mountain zone up to an elevation of 600m and encompasses significant wetland areas, including the extensive Cixc3xa9nagas de Tumaradxc3xb3.
Its geographic location in northern Colombia made it a filter or barrier to the interchange of fauna between the Americas during the Tertiary.
