Chavxc3xadn de Huxc3xa1ntar is an archaeological site in Peru, containing ruins and artifacts constructed as early as 1200 BCE, and occupied until around 400xe2x80x93500 BCE by the Chavxc3xadn, a major pre-Inca culture.
Some of the Chavxc3xadn relics from this archaeological site are on display in the Museo de la Nacixc3xb3n in Lima and the Museo Nacional de Chavxc3xadn in Chavin itself.
This archaeological site is a large ceremonial center that has revealed a great deal about the Chavxc3xadn culture.

According to national regulation, the management and protection of the Chavin Archaeological Site is the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture on behalf of the Peruvian Government.
