The archaeological site of Hegra is situated 20xc2xa0km (12xc2xa0mi) north of the town of Al-'Ula,[16] 400xc2xa0km (250xc2xa0mi) north-west of Medina, and 500xc2xa0km (310xc2xa0mi) south-east of Petra, Jordan.
